چکیده

In recent years, substantial progress has been made in understanding the molecular and cell biology of the human parasite , an Entamoeba histolytica important pathogen with significant global impact. This review outlines some recent advances in the field in the last five years, focusing on areas Entamoeba that have not recently been discussed in detail: (i) molecular mechanisms regulating parasite gene expression, (ii) new efforts at drug discovery using high-throughput drug screens, and (iii) the effect of gut microbiota on amoebiasis. 1* 1*

The Microbiome in Precision Medicine: A New Approach to Cancer Treatment

Precision medicine is a new approach in medical sciences aimed at individualizing treatment, reducing adverse drug reactions (ADRs), and decreasing health care costs. Precision medicine is also able to maintain the health of individuals by regulating their composition of microorganisms (microbiota) using specific methods. Microbiota is the total stock of microbial species in different organs of...

Small interfering RNA; principles, applications and challenges--

Gene silencing using RNAi (RNA interference), has recently been used as a successful laboratory technique in determining the function and control of gene expression and provides a wide range of applications in molecular biology and gene therapy. RNAi is a method of suppressing gene expression. In this direction, a single-stranded RNA molecule of about 21–23 nucleotides, called siRNA (small inte...
